Professor Quintanilla has more than 30 years’ experience training senior managers around the world in the field of leadership and human resources. He regularly advises national and international companies on issues of corporate strategy, organisation, leadership and human resources and is a member of several Boards of Directors. In addition, he has been widely published, both in scientific journals and those specialised in the business world.
- Doctor (PhD) in Industrial and Business Studies from the Warwick Business School, Warwick University (UK).
- Masters in Business Administration from ICADE, Universidad Pontificia Comillas.
- Degree in Law from the Complutense University.
Javier Quintanilla is a tenured Professor in the Department of People Management in Organisations at IESE. Until August 2021, he was Director of Scientific Staff and Member of the IESE board. He was also Associate Director of the Executive MBA. He began his academic career in 1990, after having worked as a lawyer and manager in two SMEs.
Professor Quintanilla has more than 30 years’ experience training senior managers all over the world. His research activity focuses mainly on the field of leadership and human resources, with special dedication to said activity in multinational companies.
He has been widely published, both in scientific journals and those specialised in the business world. In recent years he has published the following books: Human Resources Management in Multinational Companies: Subsidiaries Uncovered, Prentice Hall-Financial Times; People Management Competencies, Pearson–Prentice Hall; Multinationals, Institutions and the Construction of Transnational Practices, Palgrave Macmillan, and Challenges of Managing People: A Top Management View of the Human Resources Function, Prentice Hall – Financial Times. Profesor Quintanilla is a member of several academic and professional associations and several editorial committees.
He regularly advises national and international companies on issues of corporate strategy, organisation, leadership and human resources. He has extensive experience collaborating with family businesses, in different fields.
He is a member of several boards of directors. He is also a director of several non-profit foundations or institutions: Trustee of the Randstad Foundation, member of the Advisory Council of the Faculty of Law of the University of Navarra and Trustee of the CASER Foundation.
