Onesta’s Projects Department purchases Tecnia Madera, a company specialising in wood structures

This transaction, strategic for Onesta, strengthens its presence in the sector, placing it in a leading position in the management of wood construction projects, from their design to their on-site execution.

Tecnia Madera has more than 25 years of experience in the design, calculation, manufacture and execution of wood structures (light framing, heavy framing and cross-laminated timber), as well as in the restoration, assessment and intervention of existing wood structures.

The purchase, completed on 5 July, complements the activity already carried out by Onesta’s Projects Department to date (assistance to specifiers and supply of materials), allowing us to offer the partial or integral management (design, calculation, manufacture and execution) of wood construction projects directly and as a single point of contact..

Following the purchase, Manuel Ortega, until now the managing director of Tecnia Madera, with more than 20 years of experience in the field of wood construction, became the technical director of Onesta’s Projects Department, leading and managing the technical execution of current projects and works directly, based on his extensive and proven experience.

According to Marta Sánchez, Director of Onesta’s Projects Department, “The time is now. Construction with wood is now a reality in Spain and, in order to strengthen our presence in the sector, it is essential to lead the entire process, including the on-site execution of all the prior work carried out by our team of consultants and technical office. Tecnia Madera has become a key player for Onesta as it holds a fully established position within the sector. By joining forces, we are more than ready to face the challenges already demanded by society, which will undoubtedly continue to grow”.

This purchase is another step forward for Onesta to further improve the services and products we offer and to advance in our mission to lead the transformation and development of the wood sector.

Convened and organised by AITIM, ASA, and Onesta, the AMAD Architecture in Wood Awards are aimed, as in previous calls, at projects of new construction, rehabilitation, or interior design that have been completed in 2023.
Last Monday, 9th October, the Onesta Bioproducts for Construction Chair was introduced at the University of Cordoba's Rector's office, marking Spain's inaugural chair on this subject.
It is the first in Spain specialising in this field, encompassing the forestry-industry-construction value chain, from research into the genetic improvement of species, to the optimisation of forest use, and the development and innovation of products for their integration into construction solutions.
